Ending Dialysis Looking 4 Peace Before I Pass On

My name is Jennifer and I am asking for your help, compassion and donation. I have been battling kidney disease for 20 years and on dialysis for 10 years. At only 43, after fighting long and hard and with all options exhausted, my body, soul and mind are tired and I have decided to terminate dialysis treatments.
My journey has been one of many challenges, pain and hardships. But this Go Fund Me request IS NOT FOR ME, but for the one who has stood by me all these years. Although my extended family has also made sacrifices in my behalf, Giancarlo, my former husband, has been there to support and care for me financially and emotionally and providing for my physical livelihood. Even though we are no longer married, he has and always will be my best friend. He was not obligated to stick with me through the battle, but it was his choice and he made a commitment to do so. He has honored that commitment willingly. WHAT EX-HUSBAND DOES THAT FOR A FORMER WIFE??? Not many. It is a testament to his character, his loyalty, selflessness, devotion, integrity and true charity.
On top of what I am currently experiencing physically, when I think of leaving him financially devastated because of my illness, it plagues my mind and destroys my peace minute by minute and hour by hour. He has exhausted his savings and dipped into retirement money extensively.
The amount I am hoping to raise for him is modest in comparison to his financial deficits, but perhaps it will at least allow him to keep his nose above water and breathe a little as he deals with my passing and what he is facing financially in the future. Since I have been unable to earn a living, during most of my life, this gift, I desire to give Giancarlo can only be accomplished with your help. It is my last wish….my “Make A Wish” , if there were such a thing for adults.
Any amount of donation large or small will be appreciated and an indication of the kindness and humanity that still exists in our world today.
I plan on terminating my dialysis at the end of October, so there isn’t much time. Reaching my financial goal in this Go Fund Me will enable me to set aside some concern for one who has given so much, and it will give me some peace as I pass from this life. Blessings to all who donate, and to those who would have donated if they could have.
