Hello everyone, my name is Kayla and I am a mother of two very special children with autism!

Our story starts in NH (we live in NY now). I had moved away from a very toxic and abusive relationship with the kids' father, and the only family we had who was willing to take us in at the time lived in NY. So, I made the biggest decision I could to protect my kids, and that was to move away, as my ex was threatening the children. It was a very difficult time; we struggled with meltdowns and stress. We have lived in NY for about 7 years now. We live in Rochester, NY, and things are getting worse! The current place we live, our neighbor downstairs is a drug dealer, and in January, he ended up getting raided by police. Now my kids are struggling with anxiety and are worried that they're going to get shot or killed because of the downstairs neighbor. Also, my mother got really hurt last year and fell down and had to get a knee replacement. She is now on disability and is living with us. We live on a second-floor apartment, and it's very difficult for her to get around. So, I'm trying to save up for a house, but it is extremely difficult. My family told me to try here to see if I can ask for help, as I'm one to hardly ask for anything from anyone. So, I'm coming here in hope someone could help us so my mom and my kids no longer have to be in this small rental with fears and worries, and we can finally own our first home.
