The Powell Family has always been willing to jump in and help those around the community when needed; now it's time for us to help them!
In 2024, Bob was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He and Cathy immediately started discussing and exploring different forms of treatment with doctors in the area and in Columbus at The James. Over time, they have tried multiple lines of treatment, including CAR-T, where Bob suffered severe side effects and was hospitalized in the ICU for several days. Unfortunately, all the treatments have fallen through, and they are at an impasse.
Bob has not been able to work much for the last year and a half due to his illness. He, Cathy, and Nick have been living off of savings, but that has also dwindled due to multiple trips to Columbus that include hotel stays, food, gas, and medical costs that have added up for the family.
While this is all heartbreaking for everyone around them, we please ask that you keep Nick, their 12-year-old son, foremost in your thoughts during this time.
Bob and his family are so loved by every life they touch. They have always given their all to their community. As their niece and a member of the family, I am asking the community to please help them out in return.
Monetary donations can be made here. We are also organizing a benefit event for Bob that is set to take place on August 24th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Little Hocking Community Center. Donations will also be accepted at the door of the event. There will be food and a Country Store with donated items.
Thank you for all of your help and support during this difficult time.
