Help Barb Pass at Hospice
Donation protected
Barb Leon is a wife, a mom, a friend, and one of the strongest women you’ll ever meet. She has also been battling terminal cancer for over a year.
When she was first diagnosed June 2019, Barb’s only wish was to live long enough to see her daughter Victoria graduate from college, and to see her son Louie Jr. graduate from Air Force Officer Pilot Training and earn his wings. To her immense pride and joy, both of those milestones took place this past May 2020.
As of August, Barb has been told her cancer metastasized from her liver to her abdomen. She has decided not to seek out any further treatment and just spend her with her family and friends. Her final wish at this point is to pass at Hospice, rather than at home. It’s Barb’s hope that in doing so, her home won’t become a place of sadness, but instead remain the truly special and love-filled center of her family; the home where her children grew up and where she and her husband Lou have created a million happy memories. The home where in the years to come, her husband and children can gather and recall Christmases, birthdays...and create new memories as her children continue into adulthood, eventually becoming spouses and parents themselves.
Hospice is a sanctuary of peace not just for the person who is passing, but for the entire family. Hospice staff are angels on earth who help children, husbands, wives and other loved ones find comfort as they accept profound loss.
Unfortunately, hospice care is also incredibly expensive and can literally bankrupt a family.
We’re asking for your help to provide Barb, Lou, Louie Jr. and Victoria with this final wish so that Barb can make her final journey with her family and friends by her side.
