Give John Dickerson a Fighting Chance Against Cancer

My name is Janice Dickerson and I am the wife of a wonderful man named John Dickerson. John and I have been together for 25 years...24 of those happily married.

Many of you might not know that John was diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer in October of 2023. The cancer has spread to his liver and also to some lymph nodes. He gets chemo every two weeks when his blood counts allow it. He has had 11 treatments to date.

We were recently sent to the University of Florida to see about a new treatment for his liver but while there found out he had moderate ascites which is fluid build up in his belly. This made him not eligible for the treatment. Today, 7/31/24 he had 3 liters of fluid drained at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. We will get the results next week.

We have basically been told the cancer is treatable but not curable. Insurance covers a lot of the bills which we thank God for. They do not however cover protocols that involve experimental medications.

We have done the research and have found an experimental treatment for cancer. There has been great success with John's type of cancer. The treatment protocol is expensive and at this time paying all of our travel to and from treatments, doctor appointments, co-pays and deductibles has taken us to having no savings or resources left. As soon as we are able to raise the funds to pay for the treatment we can receive the medication for John to start the 90 day protocol. Any funds we raise will go directly to the account in Johns name that will be used to pay for the medication.

I would never forgive myself if John does not get the opportunity to get this chance so that is why I am asking for help.

Is it for me? Selfishly I have to say YES!! John is my everything. He is a wonderful stepdad, Papa, protector, friend, uncle, son and my beautiful husband. I want to thank you for reading this.
