Hi my name is Kearsten, many of you know my dad, Emmett, but what you may not know is that he has been bravely battling small bowel cancer that has spread to his liver. Over the past several months, he has been receiving treatment at the University of Chicago in Crown Point, and despite everything he’s facing, he has stayed strong and positive. He’s constantly making sure Robin, Gabrielle, and I have everything we need never asking for anything. I truly couldn’t ask for a better dad and don’t know what I would do without him.

This week, he will be undergoing an extensive liver surgery at the University of Chicago downtown in hopes of removing what the chemotherapy hasn’t been able to. After surgery, he’ll need time to recover and go to and from Chicago for additional follow up appointments.

With this additional travel and ongoing treatment, the expenses have began to add up. We are reaching out to our family and friends for support to help ease this added burden. With the holiday season right around the corner, we are especially grateful for any help, big or small anything helps.

I can’t imagine life without my dad, and I’m so thankful he has access to the incredible care at the University of Chicago. Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers during this time. It truly means more than we can express.
