Nicole’s Medical &Therapeutic Riding Expense Fund

Nicole Kuklinski was involved in a serious car accident on April 14th, 2019 on her way to the airport in Atlanta, GA after the completion of a great horse show with her horse, Sketchie Details (Petey). Nicole has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, whiplash, and many neck issues. Her life has changed completely since this accident. She lost her ability to walk; her balance was so poor that she would fall over and wouldn’t be able to catch herself. She lost her ability to talk; her speech was very slow and slurred, she would know what shewanted to say, but could not physically get it out. She lost her cognitive ability; her memory was poor, she was unable to think clearly, comprehend and process information. She was delirious and incoherent much of the time. The constant headaches, dizziness, pain, vision issues, balance issues, cognitive impairment, and constant fatigue, are extremely hard for her to live with, and still are to this day. She has received treatment from many different physicians throughout her journey. Nicole currently goes to a variety of different therapies 5x a week. She has improved a lot since the accident, but still has a long road ahead of her.  

Nicole lost her independence, she has to rely on others for everything. She is still unable to work, drive, and just live a normal life like she used to. She was forced to sell both of her horses, Sketchie Details and Im All Diva- they were her life and she loved them immensely. Nicole has been involved in Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding since September 2019. It has improved her balance, leg & core strength, and her overall happiness. Recently, Nicole was gifted back her old show horse, Dancin In My Sleep (Karl). Nicole and Karl were a team for 4 years in the Hunter Under Saddle Events. Karl will aid Nicole as her Therapy Horse and therefore help her in her recovery process both physically and emotionally.

Nicole has had a tough journey and still has a long way to go, but she is determined to get back to her normal life and eventually be back in the show pen someday.
