Bridget’s Battle

The 2nd of May at 8am at CrossFit TMA is the first running of Bridget’s Battle a workout to help raise awareness and support for Bridget and her family

Nearly two years ago, Bridget was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer. Since then, she has faced an incredibly tough journey with courage and determination.

Over the past 23 months, Bridget has undergone 12 rounds of chemotherapy, which unfortunately had to be stopped when it was no longer effective in controlling the tumour growth. She then continued treatment with 8 rounds of hormone therapy, but recent scans showed the cancer had progressed, with new tumours in her liver and spread to her peritoneum.

Bridget has since begun targeted radiation treatment at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, one of Australia’s leading cancer hospitals, and has already completed two rounds under the care of specialist oncologists.

While Bridget remains determined to keep fighting, ongoing treatment, travel, and has now had to give up the job that she worked so hard for due to not being well enough to work are creating significant financial pressure. This fundraiser through GoFundMe aims to help support Bridget with medical-related costs, travel to Melbourne for treatment, and day-to-day living expenses so she can focus on her health and recovery.

Any support, big or small, will make a real difference. Thank you for helping Bridget continue to face this fight with courage.
