As many of you know, our beloved Bernadette Remias-Harris, was recently diagnosed with a reoccurrence of breast cancer -- this time around her diagnosis is considered stage IV metastatic disease to the spine. After 3 years of survivorship, she is currently gearing up for the battle of her life and she and her family need all the prayers and support they can get.
Bernadette is a 38 year women, who was initially diagnosed in 2012 with stage 2 breast cancer at the young age of 35. She is the wife of Jeremy Harris and the mother of 2 beautiful 6 year old twin girls- Jemma and Natalie.
Her first battle with breast cancer consisted of the most aggressive form of treatment available at the time. Bernadette endured a bilateral mastectomy, 5 months of chemotherapy, followed by radiation therapy. During this battle she earned the title of, "Pink Ninja Warrior," because of her positivity, strength, and endurance. Not only did she continue to work during her grueling treatments, she remained a hands on mother to 3 year old twins, while also becoming a support to all those she met along her journey.
Bernadette has dedicated her life to helping others. Not only is she a social worker by trade, but she is a social worker by heart. Being a breast cancer survivor myself, I met Bernadette by chance. Due to her natural inhibitions to help others, she became my biggest supporter despite her OWN illness. That is only a small example of the kindhearted, strong women she truly is.
With that said I am asking for a small favor. In addition to tons of prayers I am also asking for financial donations. As most of you know, the cost of an illness can have catastrophic effects on a family. In order to alleviate the financial stress please donate; any denomination of funds will help.
If you were thinking about "adopting" a family for the holidays, please consider the Harris's. All funds donated will go directly to the one and only, "Pink Ninja Warrior." Without the financial stresses of everyday life
Bernadette will be able to focus on what's truly important- being a wife, mother, and most importantly a survivor!
