I would like you to meet Noah! This little guy is quite the fighter!! When Crystal was about 20 weeks pregnant or so she found out that this little guys intestinal tract was not properly connected and she was then classified as a high risk pregnancy because he would need surgery soon after he was born. If that was not stressful enough for this first time mom, in her third trimester it was discovered that not only did she have nearly twice the amount of normal amniotic fluid but the blood flow through the umbilical cord was lower than it should have been. After close monitoring by ultrasounds, the doctor decided that’s it was safest to have Noah be induced at 35 weeks. Born 5 weeks early, knowing he needed surgery soon after his birth, Crystal and Matthew has no idea everything they would begin to walk through.
Following his birth an NG feeding tube was placed to that he would be able to eat with the incomplete digestive tract. His oxygen was initially removed almost immediately following his birth. He had surgery a few days later and seemed to be healing beautifully! However, Noah began to struggle with bottle feeding and had a feeding tube replaced so that he would get his entire meal and gain the weight the doctors wanted to see. Eventually, after a nurse suggestion they tried using formula and he began to have full feeds and after about a month and a half they were given a tentative release date of Tuesday August 25. Tuesday came and Noah’s Co2 levels were too high to be signed off on his release. After being looked over again it has been determined that this little guy now has pneumonia. The doctors have started him on antibiotics and increased his oxygen. He is needing another surgery but the doctors will not be able to put him under until several weeks after he has gotten better from the pneumonia.
We have no doubt that God has his hands all over this little boy and his brand new, first time parents! Having a baby born and have to have an extended stay filled with surgery, sickness and tubes, you can imagine would be difficult but Crystal and Matt have not once wavered in their faith during this entire process! However, as you can imagine the hospital stay bill has began to become quite the undertaking, even with insurance. This is why we wanted to set this up for his parents. Crystal is not working at this time so anything you can offer this amazing, strong, God fearing family is greatly appreciated! If you cannot donate any money then we please ask that you add this family to your prayers! There is power in prayers and the Lord will see this family through this difficult time!
