Biddy Barber Fundraiser
Spende geschützt
Bids...Biddy....Rally Granny, whatever name you may know her by, is a remarkable, kind and caring individual.
My name is Katy Gale - I have been a friend of Bids since childhood and this Go Fund Me page is being set up on behalf of Biddy and her family, Chris, Brett and Ali.
About fifteen years ago Biddy was diagnosed with melanoma cancer. Being the trooper that she is and with the financial support and love of her family, she fought and survived this cancer. Sad to say it has returned, with her again being diagnosed with melanoma in April, 2023.
Biddy has been waiting nearly a year to start treatment for her cancer. After having a PET Scan at the end of last year, her doctors at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados have recommended Immunotherapy followed by Radiation Therapy. The drug for the immunotherapy costs BDS $19,000 per treatment, and she has been told that initially she will need six treatments (BDS $114,000).
Given the length of time since her original diagnosis, we are anxious to get her started on a course of immunotherapy as soon as possible and in order to do this we need your help in raising BDS $114,000.00 (UK 45,000.00 pounds). The immunotherapy treatment will be administered at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here in Barbados, thus avoiding the costs involved with her having to travel overseas.
From St Philip to St James, you will more than likely have seen barefoot Biddy in a canefield or a rum shop having a beer, or even, on occasion, seen her wearing a pair of shoes! Either way, everyone knows Biddy with her joyous disposition and infectious smile.
Whether you know her from her high school days at St Winifred's, her shop in St Lawrence Gap, her famous T-shirt wagon at Rally Barbados or from pulling you out of a muddy hole at a Mud Dogs Rally, we ask you to please make a donation to help raise the funds we need for this free spirited lady so she has a fighting chance to continue to share her zest for life.
Thank you and God Bless.
