UPDATE:

Now in October 2025, I have run two spartan races. After completing the Super (12km) in May, I went on to run the significantly more challenging Beast (24km) in October.

The latter tested me to the very limits, not to mention it took place two days before my Father's funeral. But with the full amount of 1250 raised (to make up 2000 trees planted in 2 years), it was never an option to quit.

Thank you all who have supported the cause the next goal will be to raise 10,000 trees in 5 years (by 2028).

Summary

My name is Stu from Berkshire. I'm running a Spartan Race in May 2025, to plant 1000 trees in aid of reforestation around the world in this instance £1 = 1 tree, so any donation is welcome!

In January 2024 I severely injured my back which left me unable to walk without crutches. I spent the year on the long road to recovery through relentless physiotherapy, chiropractors and specialist PTs to strengthen my back and body to a fit state.

One Tree Planted is a charity I've supported for the last two years, having planted over 750 trees with them in total

They're a fantastic organisation that not only focus on reforestation but also restoring habitats for wildlife to thrive. In the wake of the California wildfires there will a huge focus on conserving those areas.

Training involves running, calisthenics, grip training, lifting and lots of cardio. So far I've been wild swimming in Wales and signed up to some Hyrox sessions at Energie Fitness in Wokingham.

I still have a long way to go to be fit enough but we have 4 months to reach our goal!!
