Hello,
Many of you may have known or many may have not but at our sweet baby boys twenty week anatomy scan we was informed that he had some sort of problem with his eyes and at the time was diagnosed with cateracts with a lot of unknown. During pregnancy we had to do genetic testing as well as monitor closely and fetal MRI to rule out and further problems. Our sweet boy came into the world April 1st and we was immediately aware that something was not right with his eyes. His right eye is completely black and bulging out and his left eye he is unable to open at all. We went a few days with no answers until a optomologist was able to evaluate him. We was then informed our baby boy is currently blind. The corneas did not develope and he will need a full cornea transplant in both eyes in order to hopefully restore vision. Unfortunately but also fortunately one of the very few and best doctors to perform this surgery is in Pittsburg Pennsylvania. So this means we will have expenses for traveling. Like needing to stay somewhere, gas, and food. As of right now we no that there will be a few trips needed one being in the next weeks upcoming to have him evaluated and then another at a few months old for surgery and then maybe some follow up appointments. Financially this could be a bit of a struggle for us as I am currently out of work for 6 weeks with no pay due to just having him and of course that is taking a huge toll on us as well. I don't normally ask for help ever but if anyone could find it in their hearts to donate to help us make sure our sweet Eli gets the very best care he needs so he can have a chance at being able to see we would appreciate it with all of our hearts. Thank you so much!
