Greetings!
My name is Allen Lunde and on 4/21 I will be starting my Northbound thru-hike attempt of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). It starts at the Mexican Border and goes all the way up the West coast and ends at the Canadian Border. The hike is 2,650 miles long and will take me 4-5 months to complete.
My starting goal is to raise $1 per mile for the Honnold Foundation.
The Honnold Foundation promotes solar energy for a more equitable world. The Honnold Foundation supports solar energy access— solar everywhere, for everyone. The foundation holds both a state-side and global approach. They do a great job of bridging communities and improving the quality of life for elders and families in places that need it most, including certain parts of Detroit and other major cities in need. They also provide solar installs to organizations that have BIPOC leadership and aim to support those groups who can then better serve their local communities.

A fun part of this hiking challenge will be carrying a small, portable solar panel myself. I will aim to charge all my electronics on the hike through the power of the sun!
