In May 2019, Scott, Kate, Izzy and Arlo's lives took an unexpected turn. Scott was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rectal Cancer. The cancer has spread to his lungs and liver. There is no cure. Without treatment, the doctor predicts Scott's time with us is short. He is opting for vigorous chemotherapy to hopefully reduce his symptoms, lessen pain, and prolong his life. He's opted to fight. Scott begins his treatment in a clinical immunotherapy trial on May 23rd.

This fund will help Scott and his family with their medical bills, and to cover the cost of their COBRA insurance. It's our hope that through this fund, Scott and his family can focus on treatment and one another, rather than medical bills.

Recently Scott posted on Facebook: "I don't want sympathy. I don't want pity. I'm still alive, and I'm grateful for that. I want to live one day at a time, making sure each day is the best day I can make it. That's my goal for the remainder of my life, however long that might be. And I hope it's as long as possible. It's fight time."
