For Marlena

Donation protected
Marlena is one of my best friends. I've known her and her family since I was 7 years old. Her father, Anthony Saez, passed away on February 12th, 2016 after suffering from a major heart attack leaving him unresponsive and with four organ failures, which followed many health conditions within years prior including diabetes, a leg amputation and a bout with leukemia...leaving the family down to two--just Marlena and her mother, Rosanne.

Unfortunately, these strong women are left with no money to be received through life insurance, Retirement, Disability, Survivors' Benefits--nothing. Anthony was a retired U.S. Army veteran, a STAFF SARGEANT; and Roseanne also served in the Army, herself. Nothing can be collected. This is unacceptable.

Not only do Marlena and her mother have to deal with the grieving and funeral arrangements--which are confusing and overwhelming, as it is, but they are facing the possibility of being foreclosed on/ having to give up the house that they can no longer afford to live in. They must be out of their house in a matter of weeks and are not sure where to go. They are trying to sell their cars, even considering giving up their dog... Please help them. Any amount of a donation that you can spare would be greatly appreciated. I'm not even telling them about this Fund, until I have something to give them.

Marlena's dad--both of her parents, in fact, contributed financially to ensuring that Marlena and I always had an awesome time together, growing up. They treated us to a cruise when we graduated from high school, Tony himself used to drive us to the Movies, sometimes watch the movies with us, listened to our stupid inside jokes and joined in, in the minivan and was always cracking jokes. He also used to hand-sew Marlena's Halloween costumes. He was a proud dad, and I would hate for him to know the circumstances under which his wife and daughter are struggling with, at the moment. This is obviously personal to me just because of my affiliation with the family, but as the daughter of a retired Navy vet myself, I must reiterate how unbelievable it is to me, for a family of which TWO members have served this country cannot receive the help that they deserve under such circumstances. Again, anything that you can give would be beyond gracious. Thank you!
