On 10 September 2022 my beautiful Mum lost her battle.
In February Mum fought for her life after going in for a preventative surgery. She became septic after her bowel perforated from the surgery and for nearly 2 months she battled on life support, but her strength and will to go on to be back with her family & see her new grandson grow up had her pull through and be with us again. For another 3 months she recovered in hospital and was finally able to go home in July to begin to live her life again. She still had a long road ahead to fully recover but she had fought the worst of it and was so happy to be home with her husband Ollie.
In the time Mum was on life support my step dad had to unexpectedly take a lot of time off work to be with her by her bedside pouring love and strength into her to help her pull through. For the past 6 weeks my beautiful step Dad has been working non stop 14 hour days back to back to catch up financially to continue to provide for Mum and my Nanna who lives with them. 3 days before he was due to fly home to spend 3 weeks with Mum, my mum began to experience terrible headaches. Friday morning my nanna took her to the hospital. A few short hours later my Mum had a seizure. She had a severe brain bleed on both sides of her brain that she was not able to survive. Completely unexplainable to even the neurosurgeons at the hospital and unrelated to the health battles she has been battling this year.
Her care team were able to intubate her to keep her somewhat stay with us while my step dad drove from Kalgoorlie to say goodbye, and I was able to sit by her side for 8 hours and tell her how loved she was and recount cherished memories throughout our life.
Our family will lovingly accept any financial assistance to help provide my Mum a funeral service & celebration of her life that she deserves, as well as assist with allowing my step dad Ollie to have some time off of work to mourn his wife. We understand this is so much to ask and those who know me, know I struggle so much to ask for any kind of help. If you have read this far and are even considering the smallest amount to help us I cannot express my gratitude
