Please Help! My name is Kim and I am asking for help for my friend who is in dire need of facial reconstruction after surgery from cancer. His name is Darren Pedigo and he could be your son, brother, uncle or friend. Darren’s nose had to be totally removed! This whole procedure has been extremely traumatic, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. Can you imagine having your nose removed from your face, leaving holes where there was once skin, not even being able to recognize yourself? Darren had the first of his reconstruction surgeries started, and now he’s out of funds to complete it. So his face is still a mess and partially finished. I don’t want to say what he looks like, but it’s not good! The new year is starting and Darren won’t be able to cover the cost of his deductible or co-payments or weekly office visits. Darren is a nurse and he cannot return to work or get a second job due to the disfigurement of his face until he can complete his reconstruction surgeries. His rent is getting behind and his bills are piling up and he can’t afford to finish his surgeries so he can get back to work. Let me tell you a little bit about Darren……this man is the kindest, gentlest most giving man you will ever meet. Everyone else’s needs and wants ALWAYS comes before his. He will not eat just so someone else can eat. He is a friend to everyone and anyone who meets him, and anyone who knows him loves to be in his company because he makes you feel loved and comfortable. Darren is a nurse who works with Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients and he treats each and every one of them with so much dignity, respect and kindness. He’s the one you would want to care for you or your loved ones. He’s humble and very patient. I’m hoping we can raise the funds needed for him to finish his reconstruction so that he can be where he is greatly needed…caring for our loved ones and possibly ourselves one day.
