PC HACK (Utah's first all female HS hackathon)
The Girls in Tech club at Park City High School is raising money to host Utah's first all female high school hackathon. Only 20% of jobs in technology are held by women and part of the reason for this is that girls are typically not encouraged to pursue computer science. This hackathon would hopefully help begin to close the gender gap in technology by exposing girls to computer science and giving them the skills and real world experience they need to be comfortable in whatever career they choose to pursue. We are fundraising in order to keep this event free for everyone in attendance, so that all girls are able to explore technology and computer science careers.
