Hello, my name is Alex and I am making this Go Fund Me for on behalf of my dear friends Ria and Sky, who tragically lost their baby girl Avery to SUDI at 6 months old.

Her passing was extremely sudden and unexpected, as is often the case in SUDI victims, and the entire family is at a loss in concerns to funding her funeral, and still reeling from and trying processing the fact that she will no longer be with us.

Avery was a source of light, warmth and joy that bound all of our friends and their family together in ways I haven't seen in many years. She was a happy giggly smiley girl who automatically became the center of any interaction.

She was loved by so many people, so dearly. Love that will continue for the rest of our lives and beyond.

Her affections were often directed towards her mothers, grandmother, and friends and staff at Strong Start, the Creche staff at NASC but also her cuddly catterpillar companion and the panda toy attached to her stroller.

And of course, empty baby wipe packets, she had a great fondness for them too.

Despite her young age she was definitely a talker. We tried hard to giggle quietly when it was bedtime and she started to narrate to herself in babytalk.

Ria and Sky are truly the best parents and most generous people you’ll ever meet. Even throughout the whole ordeal they’ve been checking in on us and giving us space to mourn, we would love to be able to give back to them.

Please, if you are willing and able, help their family mourn and celebrate Avery appropriately.

She deserves everything. We wish to have her memory preserved at the Adelaide Zoo, which was their favourite place to spend time together as a family, as well as send off that is befitting of her.

Should the goals be exceeded additional funds will be used to support the family and donated to SIDS research.
