Hi everyone,
I’m sharing this on behalf of my dear friend Layne and her family — they’ve just received devastating news: their 15-year-old son, Eli, has been diagnosed with Stage IIA Hodgkin lymphoma.
As a parent, hearing the word “cancer” is every nightmare rolled into one moment. But there is hope — Eli’s doctors say this type and stage is highly treatable, especially in teens, and he’s starting treatment from a strong, healthy place.
Right now, the cancer is in his neck and chest, but it hasn’t spread below the diaphragm- a very positive sign. His chemo will begin within the week and will continue for at least six months.
Eli is funny, kind, and full of life. He loves cooking, gaming, and making people laugh. Even now, he’s still Eli — and that means everything.
Cancer treatment brings emotional, physical, and financial strain.
This GoFundMe will help cover:
- Medical costs not covered by insurance
- Travel to and from appointments
- Medications and supportive care
- Time off work to care for Eli
- Comfort items and activities during long days at home
Because Eli will need to stay home for at least six months during treatment, we’ve put together an Amazon wishlist with things to keep him comfortable, distracted, and smiling.
More than anything, they’re asking for your prayers, encouragement, and support. Whether you share, donate, or just keep Eli in your thoughts — thank you.
We believe in Eli. We believe in his doctors. And we believe in the power of community.
With love and gratitude,
Whitney
