Please consider donating to the Tricia Carr Pomaro Legal Fund.
Tricia Carr-Pomaro is a mother of four daughters and a valued member of the Toms River community. Tricia volunteers her time between various non profit organizations, such as her daughter's Girl Scout Troop, local youth sports, and Ma22 (an organization that combats veteran suicide.) Tricia is always willing to help those in need. Now she needs your help.
Recently, Tricia, a 17 year member of the Gilford Park Yacht Club (GPYC), was unceremoniously kicked out of the club.
Tricia grew up in the GPYC. Her parents, Richard and Sheila Carr, were solid members and volunteers for the organization. Her Uncle Bernard Dolan, who served many positions on the board alongside Richard, was a member for over 40 years. He was a fixture at the club who volunteered his time selflessly. Due to recent GPYC changes, Tricia saw the spirit of camaraderie and volunteerism give way to the current culture of nepotism, greed, and a flippant disregard of club bi-laws. Tricia could not stand idly by and watch what the club was becoming. During the last election cycle, she fought back, questioning the current board and leadership, while campaigning for a candidate who she felt shared her values and love for the GPYC.
The current regime retailated. Tricia was suspended from the club without cause and fined six times the usual amount. As her suspension neared its end, and also without having been in or near the club for the duration of the suspension, Tricia was once again notified that she was being brought up on more unknown charges, which resulted in her expulsion from the GPYC. Multiple requests for the charges Tricia faced were ignored by the board. Furthermore, the board wrote the letter notifying her she was out before the hearing date. This letter was sent through certified mail at the expense of the GPYC and its membership.
This is the kind of corruption Tricia is facing. The board now operates as a dictatorship. Please join us in helping Tricia take up the fight against this illegitimate expulsion and a rogue board. Make no mistake this treatment was organized and deliberate. This treatment was in direct retaliation of someone speaking up against something they thought was wrong. Tricia is fighting this fight for all who are members of the GPYC. This could happen to anyone who tries to stick up for the GPYC and its members under the current leadership.
Please note GoFundMe allows for anonymous donations which would insulate anyone who wants to join their sister Tricia in this just fight and not face the type of retaliation she is facing.
Any money for recuperated will be sent back to anyone who donated. Anonymous donations will be donated to MA22 a local Veteran Suicide Prevention Non-profit.
Thank you and GO TRICIA!!!
