2016 World Youth Day Pilgrimage
Donation protected
Dear friends,
I have been offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! I have been accepted to go on a pilgrimage to World Youth Day with the Community of the Beatitudes this summer. The trip will last 6 weeks. We will be staying in various Beatitudes houses. I feel strongly called to pursue this opportunity, but I need your help to make it happen.
The pilgrimage will begin in late June, with a formation retreat in Denver. We will camp in the campsite where Saint John Paul the Great visited in 1993. From there, we will depart to Toulouse, France. Then we will spend time in Lourdes, Prague, and Czestochowa, as well as some historical sites like Auschwitz and Omaha Beach. We will spend a lot of time in prayer in preparation for World Youth Day. The pilgrimage will culminate in Krakow with hundreds of thousands of Catholic youth from around the world. All of this will lead up to the week of World Youth Day in Krakow. If you would like any more information about the trip, check out the Community of the Beatitudes website.
I have wanted to go to a World Youth day for a long time. I am blessed to have the opportunity to be with Catholic youth and hear the pope’s message to us. I’m really excited to go with the Community of the Beatitudes because they provide us the spiritual preparation to fully receive this gift.
To make this happen, I am hoping to raise $3500. This includes lodging, meals, and transportation. This a daunting price for a college student, and I would really appreciate your consideration in helping me. In thanksgiving for your donation, I will pray for you and your intentions on my trip.
Thank you so much! May God bless you.
