The Paducah Bourbon Society Project Helios!
Designed and supported by Paducah Bourbon Society volunteers, Project Helios provides the opportunity to help empower our community to make the biggest impact possible.
The Paducah Bourbon Society is a proud supporter of local nonprofit Paducah Cooperative Ministry. Last year the Paducah Cooperative Ministry Fresh Start Village assisted 142 women and children with temporary housing and helped those families find permanent solutions to long term housing needs. Every child in our community deserves a safe, clean place to sleep, and the Paducah Bourbon Society wants to help PCM with their mission statement of doing God's work with human hands.
Helios was the personification of the sun in Greek mythology, a Titan who drove the chariot of the sun across the sky. We intend to become Titans of impact in our own community by harvesting the power of the sun to provide clean and renewable energy for vulnerable woman and children seeking food, shelter, and a safe place to sleep.
We are working to deliver and install a grid-tied solar system on the roof of Fresh Start Village that will produce free and clean energy from the sun to offset their monthly energy costs. Utilities are one of the most expensive items in the shelters operating budget, and our goal is to help Paducah Cooperative Ministry become more sustainable and self-sufficient by producing their own energy for the next 25 years.
Your donation today will help women and children in our community every month for the next 25 years as it produces clean and renewable energy.
For example :
Your $5 donation will help provide one nickel in free electricity for homeless women and children every month for 25 years
Your $25 donation will help provide one quarter in free electricity for homeless women and children every month for 25 years
Your $100 donation will help provide $1 in free electricity for women and children every month for 25 years.
Your $1,000 donation will help provide $10 in free electricity for women and children every month for 25 years
What you donate today will have an impact on our community for the next 25 years, because your donation will help provide a solar system that produces electricity each time the sun shines.
