Help Our Family Recover from Flood Damage

Hi everyone, 

For those who are unfamiliar with me, as a single mother, I try my hardest to provide and protect my children. Those who know me well knows that I will go above and beyond to help others and understand how difficult this is for me, and it is not in my nature to reach out to my friends, family, or community openly for assistance. However, on Friday, September 20, 2024—while out with my son EJ getting ready for his homecoming dance—I received a call from my son Tylan informing me that the house had flooded, with water seeping from the upstairs bathroom and into the downstairs bedroom and kitchen, causing significant damage. While resolving that matter over the past few days, I continued to be a full-time mother and encouraged my son in all of his weekend activities, ensuring him that nothing would affect his big GameDay!

Since the flood, I have noticed that black mold is growing, and because of health and safety concerns, limited access to water, and other factors, our home has unexpectedly become uninhabitable. And now we have to move temporarily and restart our lives. 

 

In addition to dealing with day-to-day difficulties and the loss of close loved ones, our family has already been through devastating life changes. Now, we must relocate and replace personal items that were destroyed by the water damage. Moving is now necessary but financially there is only so much one person can handle.
