Help with my medical bills
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Monte. I am 61, have six kids and 14 grsndkids. I retired from my job on April 1, 2023. I had another job lined up starting in August but then in July, I developed symptoms of a severe sore throat. I went to the doctor and after several visits with several doctors, they found a tumor on the base of my tongue.
In August, I was diagnosed with HPV viral cancer, the most common type of throat cancer in men between 55 and 65. It is 95% curable and can linger in your body for 30 to 40 years. My prognosis is very good.
I am paying for insurance through my retirement from my previous job but it is almost $300 a month. I go to treatment five days a week and cannot have another job while I go through treatment. Between my catastrophic cap this year of $7,500, co-pays, and all the things that fall through the insurance cracks, my medical bills are forcing my wife and I to go through our savings, accumulate massive credit card debt and causing us to get behind on our bills. My treatment will also role into the new year and the catastrophic cap starts all over again.
Please, any amount helps. I have so many reasons to live.
