Funeral expenses for Ella’s Father

I don’t really have the words right now. Ellas father was a good man with a huge heart but also the sickness of addiction that he tried everyday to overcome. On and off again sobriety he never gave up trying. Despite his addiction he always made the best choices for his daughter and made sure she was safe with me when he wasn’t able to be the Dad she needed. When he was sober he went above and beyond for her without hesitation and there was never or is there any doubt that her daddy loved her beyond himself and I’m beyond grateful for that peace he was able to give her. The past year he was sober and stayed clean pulling his life together and became the dream consistent father Ella had always dreamed of… until his recent relapse that took his life on 3/9/23. 2 weeks prior, He went to detox and He was working with the VA for placement to get better. He took Ella to dinner and spent time with her and talked about his plans to get better. he was open and honest about his addiction to make sure Ella knew it wasn’t her fault, only the addiction that made his mind sick as much as can be appropriately shared with an 8 yr old. He was absolutely an amazing father and tried his very best but unfortunately he accidentally overdosed waiting on a bed to open with the VA and his worst fear came true…. I had to tell our beautiful little girl that daddy has gone to heaven. There is so much more but for right now She’s asking about a funeral so she can see him one last time and tell him goodbye. As can image he did not have anything and his mother is not able to contribute. He soon to be step dad who has stepped up to the plate Ans been there for her this past year and a half has generously contributed 1000 towards his funeral expenses. If you are able to help it would be greatly appreciated. Anything beyond the cost of the funeral will be donated to Ella for future needs that he would contributed to such therapy for sure. senior trip, college ect.
