If you know me then you know posting this is extremely hard for me to do, but it’ll be even harder to tell my daughter after all of her efforts she can’t go. This year has been very humbling reminding me it’s ok to ask help.
My youngest daughter, Aaliyah, has qualified for both USATF and AAU Track and Field Junior Olympics. She has qualified to compete in all 3 events she has contested in.
My kids are use to me making everything happen. I’ve gone through and counted everything I have more than once and I simply won’t be able to make this one happen on my own. These past 2yrs have been difficult financially due to my health plummeting in 2023. Just when I thought I’d gotten caught up after taking on a second job last year, we got into a car accident back in March that took me backwards.
Aaliyah has overcome her own struggles this year with anxiety. I’m still in awe of her drive. Aaliyah was ready to quit track at the start of the season due to really bad anxiety at her meets. We turned to prayer and preparation. Her go to bible verses before her races/events are Deuteronomy 31:6, Isaiah 41:10 and Joshua 1:9.
She has now qualified to compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Championship in the pentathlon, open high jump and open 1500m run. Along with the USATF pentathlon.
This goes to show it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish! Her favorite all time verse, Proverbs 3:5-6!!
Aaliyah is not only an athlete she’s a champion academically as well. She maintained straight A’s all school year while in advance level courses and got accepted into the gifted learning program at her middle school.
If you’ve read this far thank you. I am however asking all who is able to please help me cover travel expenses for her competition. The competition is a span of 5 days. This campaign is set up to assist in covering hotel and rental car expenses for this time. If you are unable to donate I completely understand but we would truly appreciate it if you could please share her fundraiser.
Thank you in advance.
