My name is Cindy Davis and I’m creating this Go Fund Me for our longtime kind and funny friend Carmen, who needs our help. Carmen was recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She’s 62 years old and self-employed as a realtor. Although she has a wide network of colleagues and friends, she has no immediate family or significant other. So essentially, she is her sole support.

Here's what we know…when fighting endometrial cancer, the first line of defense is a hysterectomy. After that, treatment takes place over a matter of weeks or months, depending on the stage/grade of cancer.

We all know having cancer is very expensive, which is honestly freaking her out. So we sat down with Carmen and thoughtfully came up with anticipated costs--living and business expenses, as well as insurance and medical expenses that had to be paid upfront. We did our best to come up with a figure in terms of what recovery might look like for her, as well as allow her to transition back to working full-time.

A key to fighting cancer is having a positive mindset. If you know Carmen, you know that although she is a fun person bursting with energy when she is around people, she also struggles with depression & anxiety. For this reason, we want to help her to be able to focus on healing without the burden of worrying about money.
