My name is Kayla, and Paz has been my best friend for 6 years now. Paz is a little runner duck, a domestic breed, who I rescued on the night before my birthday. A woman had purchased her at just a few days old from a Tractor Supply and decided she didn't want her. "Someone take her or I'm dumping her in the parking lot" - so I took her, and I believe the universe delivered me my soulmate that night.
Paz is an incredibly special little girl. I wouldn't be here today if I didn't have her and I'm so grateful to have her in my life. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, Paz became ill. It started with vomiting, and then she couldn't pass stool at all. She made it through that incident and my family and I spent all we had so that she could be tested and treated. The medication hasn't helped, and she may have even been misdiagnosed.
Once again my little girl has been vomiting nonstop and cannot pass stool. She can't eat or even keep down the water she drinks. I am terrified of losing my baby. A trip to the emergency avian vet gave us an estimated bill of $6000. Veterinary care is extremely expensive, and as a chronically ill woman working a part time job, I was even denied Care Credit.
This is why I am asking you to donate even a small amount to help Paz. This is sadly a critical time and illness she is facing, and a duck's body is fragile. I'm beside myself with fear, and everyone who knows Paz would be heartbroken to lose her. All she wants to do is play and make people smile. But we are facing a terrifying moment in her life and she needs help.
Please, if you can spare anything, help Paz get the urgent care she needs to survive. Spread the word if you can. You don't know how thankful I am that you would even consider it.
