Payton’s fight against Type 1 Diabetes

Hey guys!

This is Lonnie and Candace, Payton’s mom and dad. We are asking for a little help in Payton’s diagnosis with type 1 Diabetes. If you all haven’t heard he was diagnosed last Monday 7/25 after he was admitted into the hospital for 3 days. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions and for a 15 yr old boy even more nerve racking and overwhelming. We don’t ever ask for help as we try to do things on our own 99% of the time but we have learned that hospital stays, insulin and medical supplies can be very expensive unfortunately. Payton has always been a healthy kid and we were unaware how pricy these things can be.

As y’all know school is about to start soon and we are trying to make this transition as easy as possible on him and us. We are asking for a little help. We do have insurance but the cost of pumps, sensors and medical supplies is outrageous!! Our goal here is to get him functioning as a normal kid when he starts school and unfortunately insurance can’t process these things fast and even when they do there are still high copays and deductibles.
