Hi everyone, I am Cathy, Payton's fur baby mommy.

My husband surprised me with Payton one day to help with my crippling anxiety; ever since I held him in the palm of my hands, he became an instant shining light in my life. All my fears that terrorized me slowly faded away. And every time I felt that overpowering shadow closing in on me, Payton was there to brighten my day with slobbery kisses and cuddles that could cure even the coldest heart.

He is my whole world, as all our pets are to each of us. It’s incredible how much of an impact our furry creatures have on our lives. He saved me when I was at my lowest; now, it is my turn to save him.

A small lump was discovered under Payton’s lip and after tests, CT scans, and a biopsy, it came back to be cancer. To say my heart sunk would be an understatement. I was devastated to hear this news, but there was a gleam of HOPE!

The cancer isn’t very big and isn’t spreading. It is, for the most part, staying stagnant in his sinus cavity. Unfortunately, given Payton’s small and adorable size, surgery to remove the cancer would be too difficult. HOWEVER, there is a VERY STRONG CHANCE the cancer can go into remission via an aggressive form of radiation to wipe out the cancer cells!

Radiation, as I’ve come to learn, can be quite expensive. I am asking for any donation to help cover as much of the costs of Payton’s radiation treatment as possible. All funds will be going straight to his medical bills. And if you can’t donate, that is fine! Even spreading the word could do so much to help.

Payton still has a lot of life in him and is showing no sign of slowing down! He still chases his ball for hours, swims like it’s no one's business, and takes his sweet little time on walks to catch the fresh air. Our favorite thing to do to close out the day is cuddle up with one another on the couch and have our movie night. Payton is family, and as Stitch always said, “Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind.”
