Payne-Meier family

On August 17 Mike and Amber learned they were having twins due March 5, 2023. On 11/17/2022 Amber experienced some pain and ultimately an emergency c-section was done at 24 weeks.

Harrison Ray and Pearl Kay, born 11/17/22 at 9:59 and 10:02 pm. Harrison weighed 1 lb 7.5 oz, measuring 12.21 inches and Pearl 1 lb 11 oz, measuring 12.60 inches.

It was found Pearl has a significant brain bleed and Harrison had a small infection which would need to be monitored.

Mike and Amber live close to the hospital so have been lucky enough to be very close to the babies.

On 11/25 after an ultrasound of Pearl’s brain the medical team decided Pearl would need to be transferred to U of I for medical treatment. This means one baby will be in Des Moines and one baby in Iowa City, 2 hours away from each other.

The medical team has prepped Amber and Mike that the babies will most likely be in the hospital until their due date.

I am the (very excited) aunt to the babies and am reaching out for support for the family. The four will have so many unforeseeable expenses now and in the future and I’m addition to the babies being 2 hours away from one another. We would love to be able to to provide them with support so they can focus completely on the health of sweet Pearl and Harrison which is what those two peanuts need.
