For over 35 years, Arcadia Films has been a labor of love and faith. For the past 27 of those years, Richard and Stephen have lived and worked out of their family home in Connecticut—where they have carried out pre-production, post-production, and even portions of film production itself.
This home is more than just a house. It has been a place of prayer, rest, and mission—blessed over the years by the presence of holy priests and dear friends, and deeply rooted in a life of faith.
I entered this home while caring full-time for my mother-in-law during her illness, helping in small ways with the work. After her passing, I remained as housekeeper and assistant. Stephen and I became engaged in June 2018 and were married that October, beginning our life together in this home.
Since then, we have welcomed three young children, each born into and raised in this home. It is the only home they have ever known.
For 26 years, the mortgage was faithfully paid. But two years ago, Stephen became seriously ill, and in March 2025, our apostolate’s primary benefactor withdrew support. Since February, we have been unable to keep up with the mortgage.
A family member who holds the property has been covering the payments at great personal cost, but this is no longer sustainable. Three weeks ago, the house was placed on the market.
Now, we are at the final hour.
As a sale nears completion, a provision has been made:
If we can raise $211,000 by May 8th, we can pay off the remaining mortgage, stop the sale, and secure this home for our family and our mission. If not, the house will be sold to the highest bidder—and we will lose not only our home, but the heart of our life’s work.
An additional $49,000 has been included in our fundraising goal to cover unforeseen contingencies and necessary improvements to the home.
If the full amount is not raised in time, any funds received will go toward securing a new home for our family.
This is our urgent plea:
Please help us save our home—a place of family, faith, and mission.
Every contribution, every prayer, and every share means more than we can express.
