Paying Tribute to Tyler Cooks, Sr.

Hello everyone,

My name is Gabby and I am the eldest of six siblings. On December 13th, 2021, what should’ve been a celebration of one of my siblings  birthday, turned into an expiration date for another. Tyler Cooks, Sr. born January 4th, 1998, was an outgoing free spirited being with a charismatic personality. A big goofball at times from his silly dances to catch phrases in his baritone voice and sound effects that made him, him! He was a loving and devoted father, son, and brother whose life was unexpectedly cut short from a drug overdose. People whom he considered friends, failed to seek medical attention for him, leaving him outside in a parking lot to die! For whatever selfish reason and or gain, our family and his close pals are left in distress…

As you all can imagine, this sudden tragic event has been gut wrenching for our family. No parent should have to go through the heartache of burying a child let alone toddlers being left without their father. I write to you all asking for your support and assistance. Our family appreciates any donations big or small to aid with funeral expenses, funding for Tyler’s children and his parents during this unforeseen hardship.

On behalf of Tyler’s family, we thank you all for reaching out via texts, calls, or social media expressing your condolences, encouraging words and support. Please continue to pray for our family and we hope our tragedy is a lesson for others to avoid such a preventable heartache. Bless you all!
