Paying Tribute to Tim Johnson
Donation protected
Tim Johnson was my brother-in-law but I always referred to him as my brother because that more accurately described the important place he held in my heart. From the moment I met Tim I was drawn in by his kindness and wicked sense of humor. Tim was someone who looked for the good in people and life. He was always seen with a smile on his face and gave the best hugs. He had a unique way of making others feel special. I felt privileged to watch him grow from a teenager, to a college student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, to a Marine, and finally to a wonderful husband and father.
Tim was an active father who absolutely adored his 9-year-old daughter Claire and wife of ten years, Brianne. Together they made a wonderful family. He cherished them with all of his heart and his passing will leave a huge hole in Brianne and Claire’s life, and in the lives of everyone that knew him.
Tragically, Tim took his life on June 4th. He had not shown any signs of depression and all who knew and loved him are struggling to come to grips with a tragedy that makes no sense. Unfortunately, this is not my first time dealing with the suicide of a family member and I have learned from experience there is no answer to “why” that will bring solace. The best we can do is remember the amazing man Tim was, support his family in coping with his loss, and have the vulnerability to ask for help when we need it.
If you can make a contribution, funds will be used to pay for a memorial to remember and celebrate Tim’s life as well as support the family during this difficult transition. Please share your thoughts, memories, and pictures of Tim.
