Paying Tribute to Shawn Nguon

My cousin, Shawn, was tragically taken from us too soon at the age of 25 in a fatal car accident. He was on his way home early Thursday morning and another car swerved from the opposite lane and hit Shawn head-on. We are devastated.
Shawn is a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, a boyfriend, a coworker, and a friend. He is the son of Cambodian refugees who survived a genocide and who have overcome unimaginable hardships to raise their family safely in the United States. They worked tirelessly to give Shawn and his older brother, Eric, the best life possible and they succeeded in raising two kind boys. His parents said he never gave them any problems and always cleaned his room :) Their "handsome, good boy."
Shawn was just one semester away from completing his Bachelor's degree at UMass Dartmouth. He was all set to finish this May. Shawn is a graduate of Attleboro High School (Class of 2014) where he played tennis, ran on the track team, and served on the student council. He is remembered as an intelligent, friendly student-athlete who exemplified the best of the Blue Pride community. Our community mourns this loss deeply.

Shawn loved to travel! He's visited several countries in Europe and has roadtripped all over the US with his friends, visiting all of our beautiful national parks. Shawn loved concerts and music festivals, and he especially enjoyed EDM music! He also loved playing Ultimate Frisbee with his friends. His favorite foods are fried chicken, fried rice, and lo mein! Shawn was kind and caring and he will be incredibly missed by so many.
It's almost impossible to put into words the overwhelming grief his parents, his brother, and his girlfriend are going through. They are extremely grateful for everyone's condolences and are comforted by the amount of love being shown for Shawn, but this is an unbearable loss. We are still in shock and disbelief. Our hearts are with them during this difficult time, and we must continue to show them our unrelenting support.
As Shawn's cousin, I am asking for any contributions, no matter the size, that will go directly towards any expenses for his family. We are hoping to raise enough funds to cover all of the costs of Shawn's funeral next week and to support the Nguon Family through whatever needs may arise as they navigate the tragedy of this loss.
Thank you so much for all of your love and support during this truly devastating time. Please keep Shawn and his family in your thoughts and prayers <3
