It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Roney Ignatius Gomes passed away peacefully on Saturday April 10, 2021, due to complications following covid-19 infection.
Roney was a hardworking and generous man. But more than that, he was a loving husband and father and adoring grandfather. He was the rock of his family, the foundation on which his wife and three children built their lives. Roney will be deeply missed by many, and remembered for his kind heart, wise advice and gentle spirit.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday April 13, 2021 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home located at 584 Gramatan Ave. in Mount Vernon, NY. The funeral service will follow on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Victory Church located at 28 W Sidney Ave in Mount Vernon, NY. Finally, following the service, Roney will be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY.
