Dear friends, family, and anyone who comes across this fundraiser,

 

After a difficult battle, our courageous father, Troy Owen Mecham passed on from this life. For those of you that knew him, you knew that he was a fighter. Troy fought till the very end — so much so, that none of us thought it was the end just yet.

 

While enduring a long and difficult battle with cancer, he truly taught us what it means to be strong and persevere. There was no doubt that dad survived as long as he did, so that he could be there for as much of his children's lives as possible. He is survived by his loving wife Krista, and his seven children, Amber, TJ, Josh, Justin, Violet, Jacob, and Eliza. Dad was 54 at the time of his passing, with our youngest siblings learning what it is like to be homeless and fatherless at a young age.

 

In April, our parents lost their home and have been working to secure housing ever since. With our current housing market, it has been extremely difficult as Troy had been unable to work, and our mom was his full-time caretaker. This has led to an extreme financial burden as they have hopped between hotels that can accommodate them, our Dad's service dog, and the medical equipment that Dad needed to live. The goal of this fundraiser is to help memorialize Troy with a headstone and secure more permanent housing for his four youngest children and wife.

 

They will tell you that you should prepare for death. Death is inevitable. No one is too good to beat it. Troy deserved to, if anyone. He brightened the lives of so many with his hearty laugh, sense of humor, and selfless means of carrying himself. Heaven gained an angel to be reckoned with — in the best way. His passing has left a void in our family that will not be filled until we are once again reunited with him in heaven.

 

It is not easy asking for help, but thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. If you are inclined to help, we will make every dollar count. Our dad is a remarkable man, the kind you would be willing to step out on a limb for, because you knew he'd do the same for you.

 

Troy's funeral services will be held at 139 East 300 North Brigham City, Utah 84302, on Thursday, June 9th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations made in honor of our dad through this fundraiser.
