Paying Tribute to Nicky

To everyone who may not yet have heard the news, we are deeply sorry to share that Nicky Berr has unexpectedly passed away on November 13th, 2019.
As you are all aware, Nicky was truly one of a kind. She had quite the sense of humor and a way of telling stories that would put a smile on any face near or far. That New Jersey accent always lent itself well to Nicky's dramatic and humorous personality. She was stubborn and loving which was just the perfect match for her passion- animals. She and Emily have four of their own dogs, yet always wanted to take care of more. At one point she had 12 dogs she was caring for and within a day she knew little quirks about each dog's personality and loved them all. She had quite the soft spot for all furry friends.
As much as she loved animals, that didn't even come close to the love she shared with Emily. These two beautiful people just celebrated their one year anniversary last month and, together were the best, most fun people to be around. Their love was deep, genuine and inspiring. What has happened is beyond comprehension and we are all still in shock. Understandably, Emily is trying her best to cope and figure out the logistics of upcoming events and planning a celebration of life, so I am stepping in to organize a way to help with the financial burden that has now been placed on Emily. Let's come together to support her the best we can financially so that she doesn't have additional stress during an excruciatingly painful time.
We have had numerous emails, texts and messages from people asking how to help, so this campaign has been created as a way to keep everyone up-to-date with plans and also offer a place for messages and donations to be left.
