Paying tribute to Jake Fiske

We are honored to share with you the story of Jacob James Fiske of Waterford. Jake, as he is known by the ones who knew and loved him, was called home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 30th at the age of 37.
Jake was an outdoorsman, mason and craftsman like his father, Jesse Fiske of Waterford, and loving like his late mother Dayna. He was the youngest, but equally rugged to his older brothers Justin, Jessie Jr. (wife Angela) and Josh (wife Amanda). He was married to the love of his life, Jenny Klapthor, on December 2nd, 2006. The only people he ever loved like Jenny was his 8-year old daughter Elizabeth and 4-year old son James.
We would say that Jake lost his battle to insurmountable disease, but we can’t, because we watched him live through things only described as “unsurvivable.” When diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare terminal blood disease in January of 2020, Jake and Jenny sought the prayers and support of their family and their church. After months at a treatment facility in Washington, D.C., Jake returned home and then in July of the same year, while working, Jake suffered an aortic dissection. Rushed to Pittsburgh for surgery, Jake was unlikely to survive, but he did. Even with his immunodeficiency and the condition of his heart, Jake miraculously survived multiple hospitalizations, infections and even Covid 19. Jake was hospitalized on Saturday, January 29th, and after spending time that day and the following day with Jenny, Elizabeth, James, his family and friends, Jake passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. The strength of Jake's faith and fight has not only inspired the ones that loved him but the people that he encountered along the way.
Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
The funds raised will go to help Jenny to help with medical expenses and to start investing in the future for the kids.
