In Memory Of Hailey Garcia

My Hailey unbeknownst to us until hours after birth was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She had 3 open-heart surgeries, the 1st (Norwood) when she was 2 days old, the 2nd (Glenn) when she was 6 months old, and the 3rd (Fontan) when she was 5 years old. Around or close to 9 years, after her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World, I started noticing something wrong with her.... fast forward around or close to 11 years she was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis and had to get on steroids and a chemotype injection med (Methotrexate). 

She went into Heart Failure last spring (or earlier) also we weren't informed tragically by her former Cardiologist in July 2019, that then when she was hospitalized in May 2020 and they told us she needed a heart transplant and was as sick as she could possibly be. They informed us she should have been placed to receive a Heart then, which is still an egregious display of medical negligence and malpractice on her Drs fault.  All she went through could have not been her reality if she was listed and in medical care in time. 

She went into Cardiac Arrest on June 6, 2020, and had to go on an ECMO machine until they had a heart. She got a transplant on June 12. Then everything started failing... her kidneys stopped, her lungs, she started getting wounds that wouldn't heal, she couldn't get off the breathing tube, she finally had to get a tracheotomy. I never heard her speak again since June. 

She passed Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Her 13th birthday was December 5, 2020, and all she wanted was to go to the mall by herself with her friends and have a sleepover.

She wanted to grow up to be a detective, inspired by her favorite show "Law and Order SVU".

She wanted to beat up the "perps" like stabler and Finn and be compassionate but savvy like Benson.

They all sent videos on her birthday and "Benson" as she would say... FaceTimed with her on different occasions as well. 

She was a brave warrior and very strong who fought through so many obstacles until tragically couldn't.
