A Tribute to Floyd DeVilleneuve for Memorial Funds
Friends, we recently lost my dad Floyd DeVilleneuve to stage IV metastatic liver cancer on June 14, 2021. Our loss was sudden and very unexpected considering we had just received Dads' prognosis on June 4th. He was admitted to the hospital on June 11th with symptoms related to high ammonia levels due to liver failure and he never recovered. He died June 14 at 12:45. Unfortunately, we weren't afforded the time we needed to get all of our Dad's affairs in order before he was gone.
My siblings and I are fundraising on behalf of my Mom to cover the costs associated with my Father's funeral, medical, and probate expenses. Our Dad has been there for us always, being our biggest cheerleader in everything we would undertake. Whether it was playing sports, helping us learn life skills, pushing us toward our dreams or just showing us love and how to love so that we can be good partners and parents.
Our loss is compounded by the fact that our Mom is vision impaired and resides in a house that is challenging for her to take care of without our Dad's help. She is not emotionally ready to make a move from the place they shared for the past 20 years. We want her to have the memories of the times they shared together, and nothing made Dad happier than welcoming family and friends into his home, cooking for them, and making memories.
Our Dad was so wonderful about taking care of his wife, our beloved Mom, whom he loved with all his heart and whom we love tremendously. We thank you in advance for feeling led to give to this worthy endeavor and also ask that you would pray for our Mom and our family as we deal with these new challenges.
