Paying tribute to Duane Errol Blacklock
Donation protected

I know everyone who has crossed Duane's path in life is as shocked as I with his untimely passing. If you've been blessed to spend even a short time with Duane, you know you would laugh and smile within minutes. Duane was often the life of the party, and his seemingly unbound happiness was infectious.
I know your donations, no matter the size, will make all the difference in the world to the Blacklock family, including Duane's numerous friends.
Duane will surely be missed but will always be in our hearts.
Duane's family has scheduled a "funeral home visitation" for Friday July 8, 2022 from 4PM through 7PM at the Robinson Funeral Home 809 Main Street, Melrose MA 02176. Duane's family hopes this will provide another option to pay your respects to Duane if you can't attend the "Celebration of Life".
Duane's family has scheduled a "Celebration of Life" service for Duane on Saturday July 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Unitarian Universalist Church 70 West Emerson Street, Melrose MA 02176
Following the "Celebration of Life" service on July 9th, a collation/luncheon will be held at the VFW Hall at 428 Main Street, Melrose MA 02176
***WOW*** - I noticed that the goal has been reached and I also learned from a family member that spoke with more of Duane's friends that haven't yet donated but want to donate. I had no idea the goal would be reached in a single day and I underestimated the number of great friends Duane has, for that I am sorry, I should have known better knowing how great a person Duane was.
So, I've raised the goal to $15,000. So if you haven't already donated and want to, please do, Duane's family appreciates this very very much. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and the family hopes to see all who will be able to come to the "Celebration of Life" on July 9th.
***GOALS MET MESSAGE OF APPRECIATION***
The fact that the first goal of $10,000 and then the raised goal of $15,000 dollars were each met within a day of being posted, and the wonderful messages that accompanied many donations and other heartfelt messages seen on facebook tells me two things:
(1) It is a true testimony to Duane's caring loving character. His big smile, infectious laugh and his warm, kind, almost carefree spirit gave him a presence that was felt by all those he met and called his friends and family.
(2) His family and friends, who are also like family to Duane, all have great caring, compassion, love and generosity for Duane and Duane's family in their time of need.
Obviously words can't completely describe the heartfelt thanks from all of Duane's immediate Blacklock family members for everyone's donation.
Since it is also obvious that there are still friends that want to honor Duane's memory with a donation but have not yet had the chance to do so, this fundraiser will still be accepting donations until I receive word that the family knows for sure all of the funeral and "Celebration of Life" memorial expenses are met by your generous donations. If there are excess funds, those funds will be donated to a charity that Duane's parents, Robert and Phyllis Blacklock will choose to further honor Duane's life and memory.
As future donations arrive, the front page will display that the $15,000 goal has been exceeded, and this is a wonderful tribute to Duane.
My personal message to all of you is thank you, thank you, thank you. Duane would be so pleased to know that his untimely passing financial obligations on his immediate family have been met or exceeded by his family and friends who loved him very very much.
