To the Friends and Families of Carole Lauro,
On Jan 20, 2023, I got the dreaded text from John, Carole's husband. I was on zoom. Saw the notification pop up from my phone. It's from John! Instinctively, I told myself 'this can't be good.' I've been in communication with John about Carole's condition. I dreaded opening the text until the zoom finished. My heart broke as I read "Carole left us this morning....."
She's only 51. Left behind are her husband, 5 lovely children (2 still very young), a granddaughter and her parents.
I've known Carole and her family for over a decade. She's like a sister to me. A loving wife to John, and a dedicated mom to her children, Carole would commute daily and take her daughters to gym activities, events and competitions (her daughters are all accomplished gymnasts). To many who know Carole, she's funny, witty, and the kindest person you'll ever meet. Carole was a servant leader and a giver to her Nerium (Neora) organization.
Hundreds of tributes and comments flooded Facebook posts. Some have known Carole for many years while some just have brief encounters. We are shocked, sadden and many are heartbroken.
To help provide for and support the family, Carole worked throughout the months and years she was battling cancer. I saw the disease and treatments taking a toll on Carole's health as her weight dropped and she became frail. Still, being the fighter Carole was, she kept on working to help provide for the family.
As we all mourn the loss of Carole, I wanted to help launch this donation campaign in hope that collectively, as friends of Carole, we can help the family to ease the financial pain and stress associated with memorial and funeral expenses during this most difficult time for the family.
Your donation can make a real difference.
Thank you for your love and prayers.
