Paying Tribute to Alvaro Martin Perez
Donation protected
Alvaro Martin Perez was a kind and selfless father, husband, son, and neighbor. He was someone whose face would light up with a smile when he saw you. Without hesitation, Alvaro courageously risked his life to stop a violent dispute between roommates in our apartment complex. We are absolutely devastated by his passing. Our community and, most importantly, his family lost an irreplaceably warm and loving person this Friday, March 15th.
Out of respect for his and his family's privacy, the only photo displayed is of his home country's national flower the Dahlia. It very much represents his kindness and strength.
Alvaro was a hardworking man who provided for his wife and young children, even extending his support to relatives when he was able. His sudden passing has left his family unprepared for multiple expenses. They're experiencing a great loss in every sense of the word. The funds will ensure his wife, Maria de Los Angeles, and her children can keep their apartment and remain fed for the rest of the year. This is an overwhelming time for Mari and her family, and our assistance will give them the space to process their loss. It'll also allow Mari to be able to adjust to this drastic change to her life, so she can grieve and find a job at her own pace.
Please consider donating if you can; any amount would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to, please share the link to this fundraiser. This is a fundraiser created by the Alvarez family with the desire to provide additional support. We are neighbors who live downstairs in the apartment complex. We check in with Mari every day and update her on the fundraiser regularly. We are so grateful for any help during this difficult time.
All donations will be received by Alvaro's family. Mari will be receiving assistance with 3 months of rent, so these funds will support her in the months that follow June. Groceries are approximately $400 a month and rent is $1870 monthly. Mari has set up her bank account and has connected it to the fundraiser, so she is able to receive all the funds you have kindly donated to her and her family.
At this moment, Mari has decided not to speak further on the incident to any reporters. We appreciate your condolences, but please understand her decision. Thank you.
