Supporting Women in Tanzania Through COVID-19

We are all in this together. The world over is facing a massive shift into the unknown, good and bad. As we adjust, grieve, realize our resilience, and practice gratitude, it is urgent that we think of the larger global community. Especially those who have been oppressed, forgotten, and face extraordinary hardships. 

Imagine having to ask yourself, should I face the risk of becoming sick through exposure to Covid-19 or should I go to work in order to make the money I need to feed my family. This is a reality that many people all over the world are facing. Many of those people being women, and mothers, specifically those in Tanzania, East Africa. 

Mama Dunia works with a women's cooperative in Iringa, Tanzania. There are 12 women to be exact. They are all business owners and mothers, some grandmothers. In this time, they are unsure where their next salary will come from, they are unsure of how this pandemic will affect them and their children. This is the time to pay it forward and share what financial resources we have with those who may face adversities in a much different and more challenging ways than us, unimaginable as that is. These women appreciate any and all support, whether financially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. 

Your donation goes directly to the Tanzania women of Mama Dunia through the Wave app. Every contribution is felt by the community that we work with and it goes a long way. Two dollars pays for a family to eat for a day, five dollars pays for a girls' school uniform, ten dollars pays for  lunches for the month, one-hundred dollars pays for a semester of private schooling (when safe), two-hundred dollars is the average teacher's salary, one-thousand dollars pays for a water well to be dug.
