Paying it Forward to the Smith Family for Connor

To know the Smith Family is to love them! If you have been blessed to know any of them, then you know that if someone is in need of help in any way, it is not surprising to see Chastity Smith, her husband Rob Smith, or their three children ready and willing to show up however they can to support one in need. Each year, Chas organizes the Out of the Darkness Walk in Galesburg, IL which draws focus to suicide prevention and so much more. She and her family have helped over hundreds of individuals and families during their darkest times. They have shown up as a shoulder to cry on, helping hand, and listening ear.

It is now our turn to show up, and give back to this selfless family during their time of need.

Early Sunday morning March 27th, the Smiths’ received devastating news that their son Connor Smith had been a victim of a shooting in Davenport, IA. Connor was transported to a local hospital and has been in critical care since then. Though one bullet had struck him, the impact to many vital organs has been traumatic. Connor has undergone numerous surgeries, with more expected and unforeseen.

At this time, Connor is stable with a long road of recovery ahead of him. His parents and family have and will continue to be by his side every step of the way. We are so thankful for the healing hands of the doctors as they continue to work towards recovery for Connor each and every day. We firmly believe, there is a reason why Connor was not taken from us that day, and we cannot wait to see his contagious smile on his face again.

With that said, we are knocking on your generous heart during this difficult time to help provide financial relief to Chas, Rob, and Connor. Connor is without medical coverage at this time, and as you can imagine the amount of bills are monumental already. Chas is self employed, running a successful business. However, with tending to her sons care her income is strongly impacted. Any amount given will truly make an impact for their family, with no amount being too small. If you feel called to donate, your generosity is greatly appreciated and helps relieve one more stressful thing for the family to worry about.

We will never be able to express how truly grateful we are for all of the wonderful family and friends during this challenging time. The love and support shown has been appreciated more than you know.
