For anyone that knows Matt, the first word that comes to mind is KIND. He would do anything for anyone, and would give the shirt off his back for a total stranger. Unfortunately, this Christmas season has been an extremely challenging period for Matt and his family. Matt has been sick for weeks, and was recently diagnosed with severe pneumonia, hospitalized since 26 December. While he continues to make progress every day, there will be a long road to recovery. Janetta and the kids are doing an amazing job of holding down the fort and staying strong while he continues to fight. The outpouring of love and concern has been nothing short of beautiful. They are incredibly grateful for the prayers from their friend and family network.

As Matt's childhood friend and brother-in-law, I am seeing a much greater need as time moves on with his hospital care. Mounting medical bills and interrupted work for both Matt and Janetta will mean greater challenges ahead. If you feel so inclined, please take an opportunity to pay it forward to the Burris family.
