This year, for my birthday, I am choosing to celebrate differently.

Instead of gifts, I am launching a scholarship grant for economically disadvantaged female students at the University of the Philippines School of Economics—my alma mater and the institution that helped shape the course of my life.

My time at the UP School of Economics fueled my curiosity and inspired me to dream beyond what I thought was possible. The education I received laid the foundation for pursuing graduate studies and ultimately building a career in the United States. Today, I hope to pay that forward.

I am raising $3,000 to fund scholarships for two economically disadvantaged female students at the University of the Philippines School of Economics for one academic year. I'm inviting friends, family, colleagues, and fellow believers in the power of education to join me in ensuring these students have the support they need to succeed.

The funds raised will support two deserving female students for one academic year and provide:

• Monthly stipends for transportation, meals, and school-related expenses

• Laptop computers for academic success

• Educational materials and academic support

• Future scholarship opportunities for deserving female students

Why Female Students?

Far too many talented young women face financial barriers that stand between them and their education. Yet when women are educated, entire families and communities benefit.

These students represent the next generation of economists, business leaders, policymakers, educators, and changemakers. By investing in them today, we invest in a brighter future for countless others tomorrow.

I am forever grateful for the education and opportunities I received from the UP School of Economics. This scholarship is my way of honoring that experience and paying it forward to the next generation of women changemakers.
